Only yesterday, our excited passengers on our Morning Whale Watching Cruise were treated to an incredible simultaneous visit from two very large pods of 6-7 Humpbacks each! The icing on the cake was that we had one pod on each side of the boat- so there were literally beautiful whales in every direction!  Our passengers from Brisbane, in particular, were thrilled commenting that they couldn’t believe “all this whale magic was waiting for us- a mere hour away from Brisbane!”

Yesterday, our vessel, Mahi Mahi, featuring unrivalled water-level viewing decks, really came into its own.  Each and every enthralled passenger was  able to get up-close and personal with those incredibly majestic, gentle giants of the ocean.  Like wise, our guaranteed rail-side viewing meant no crowding and absolutely breath-taking photo opportunities for all.  Our cruise was amazed when one very friendly Humpback decided to do a slow roll right next to the boat- which meant we were able to catch a glimpse of his beautiful eyes- what a treat!

Brisbane Whale Watching passengers then went on, post cruise, to enjoy a leisurely lunch in world famous Surfers Paradise.  They loved soaking up the holiday atmosphere and wandering around shops, as well as taking in the breath-taking beaches, before returning back to Brisbane.  Whale discussions were in abundance on the trip back up the coast, as everyone returned with incredible memories, and stunning photos, of their divine whalewatching experience.

It’s been a great season so far for Whale Watching Brisbane, and according to our skipper – it just keeps getting better!

Not only have our guests been thrilled with the playful Humpbacks that love to show off their acrobatic skills, but just this morning we got the very rare treat of spotting a Southern Right Whale with her calf.

Normally only spotted off the New South Wales coastline on their shorter migration from the Antarctic to South Australia, we were incredibly blessed to witness these majestic mammals on their journey together.

As usual, our friendly Humpback friends and welcome visitors, the Southern Right Whales, were not alone out there. With everything from Dolphin to Dugongs keeping them company, make sure you keep your eyes peeled and your cameras close when you join us at Whale Watching Brisbane.

We’ll be back! Our first family whale watching experience and it was fantastic. We saw whales breaching, dolphins playing and Captain Steve’s joking was funny! Great fun, brilliant crew and lovely experience.
